DAY 25 – Plumbing
PREVIOUSLY – Maine Escape
Yesterday at the Maine Escape it was a mad rush to get holes bored and framing details finished to support the mechanical and electrical systems. Today it’s all about plumbing.
DRYWALL IS HEAVY – Maine Escape
Walking the Drywall & Tileboard down from the garage to bunk room is exhausting. So glad we decided to do this first. I don’t know if I’d have the energy at the end of the day.
PLUMBING – Maine Escape
The Drywall is scheduled to go up in 2 days and it’s time to put in the plumbing. This starts in the shower with the rough-in and installation of the shower valve and I’ve specified a Kohler model. You pay a bit more for Kohler but nothing beats its quality and durability and that’s just what you want when you’re covering up such an important component. Don’t want to have to break into this wall too far down the road.
While we’re in the bathroom, the vent pipe is plumbed into the wall behind the toilet.
This is the shower head going in. It’s a Kauai III Rain Shower System that has a built-in wand and adjustable control. It has all the bells and whistles you want in a high-end shower without the high-end price.
ACHE ‘N BACK – Maine Escape
The load-in of the Drywall & Tileboard caused some sore muscles so this day is short lived. Somebody had some fun with Trix.
Special treat tonight with dinner in town and a taste of some great Maine lobster.
NEXT TIME – Maine Escape
Tomorrow at the Maine Escape the plumbing gets one step closer to completion and I sneak in the first sheet of Drywall.
