Maine Escape DAY 0.8 – Budget

Maine Escape DAY 0.8 Budget

DAY – 0.8 – Budget

PREVIOUSLY – Maine Escape

The materials have all been entered into My Lists (at homedepot.com) and organized by area. Using My Lists allowed us to coordinate with all parties involved in the renovation and give them an online organizational tool to put everything together. This allows us to finalize a budget for the homeowners (Ray & Nancy) and schedule deliveries. Almost 3 months have gone by to get us to this point and we have just 1 month left before we depart Raton, NM and head to Denmark, ME to step foot on site for the first time and manage the bulk of the Maine Escape Renovation.

BUDGET – Maine Escape

Budgeting is an art and it’s very difficult to get solid cost numbers for everything in a project. That’s why, when budgeting, we go for a cost range. When estimating the cost of a job, only the surface of a project can be seen. There is no way to know exactly what is inside a wall or under the floor. There is also time to compete with. Manufacturers are aways adjusting prices and a $0.50 increase on one part may not make too much of a difference… unless you need 1000 of that part. Always give yourself a range of at least 20% to the high side of an estimate.

These numbers are a realistic expectation of how much should be budgeted for a project of a similar scope to the Maine Escape. The price ranges are specific this project and pricing can and will vary depending on where the project is located. Please use this budget as a guideline only. The actual cost of the Maine Escape budget is not listed, out of respect for the owners’ privacy.

There is one Month left before we travel to the Maine Escape. We need to finalize the onsite schedule and do some prep work before we head out. Also, we need to schedule deliveries and pickups. There is more to do than days to do it and absolutely no time to waste.

Thanks for tuning in,
